CONTESTS | LUXURY LINK: ENTER BY MARCH 31 (Out Like a Lamb)

http://www.luxurylink.com/LL/home_win_trip.php?save=1&suppress_email=all&WT.mc_id=TLEmail

I entered the contest for five days at The Jalousie Plantation in St. Lucia. My reasoning: I've been to Greece, Italy, Mexico and to the Caribbean, too, for that matter, but only to Haiti. (In 1980. It rhymes.) I would love to get to the Seychelles -- who wouldn't? -- but my ability to travel is restricted for much of the year these days. I have a son in public school, you see, and removing him for travel and travel alone on school days is tantamount to truancy under the current regime. You've no doubt heard of No Child Left Behind. When it comes to elective, nonessential travel during the school year, the authorities want all children left behind. Never mind the enrichment benefits of a grand trip. In the current climate, we may not be too far from school administrators tagging travel-prone public-school parents as flight risks. Passports, please! [CORRECTION: I actually entered to win one of the five. I would chose The Jalousie Plantation in St. Lucia if I won. Everything I said about public school and travel is accurate.)
